Fred Thompson, Rat

Well now, according to the Boston Globe Mr Law and Order, the clean conservative, Fred Thompson, leaked information from the Senate Watergate Committee to the White House, its target. He told the Nixonites that the Committee knew about the secret taping system before he was allowed to ask aide Alexander Butterfield about it at the hearing. He did so because "I wanted to be sure that the White House was fully aware of what was to be disclosed so that it could take appropriate action." Do you suppose the infamous 'gap' was the sort of appropriate action he had in mind?

Thompson was Howard Baker's campaign manager in 1972 and Baker brought him into the Senate committee as minority counsel. Baker was a staunch Nixon supporter as was Thompson. The question Baker insisted Thompson (who did not discover it) be allowed to ask launched his career with the public. You can make your own decisions about what it did for him in Republican circles to be a Nixon mole (my apologies to the other vermin - rats).

Do you begin to feel a little more informed about his stance on the Scooter's scooting? He had this to say, "shocking injustice . . . created and enabled by federal officials." which sounds less surprising from a 'law and order' kind of guy considering, "In retrospect it is apparent that I was subconsciously looking for a way to justify my faith in the leader of my country and my party, a man who was undergoing a violent attack from the news media, which I thought had never given him fair treatment in the past," Thompson wrote. "I was looking for a reason to believe that Richard M. Nixon, President of the United States, was not a crook."

This is the ultimate crony, law and common decency be damned, he's our guy so we'll look out for him. Baker's shill, Nixon's mole, Libby's apologist & fund raiser, and lobbyist, the ultimate outsider, so far outside that the pick up truck he bought to burnish his "good ole boy" credentials is rusting away in his mother's drive way, undriven since the campaign. This is the undeclared candidate star of the Republicans - they're in worse shape than it looked.

You have to almost feel sorry for them, I have Republican friends who used to give me grief for being a Democrat, now they just look at me and shake their heads. And yes, I'm exactly polite enough to not kick sand in their faces. If you take the time to look at the crap floating around all their candidates (with the possible exception of Ron Paul) it is easy enough to see a Presidential General Election loss headed their way but the damage in Congress may be astonishing. Congressmen can do little to distance themselves from their Party's Presidential candidate and these guys should be easy meat - facts and their own statements, no Swiftboating.

Oops! Turns out the Globe story is full of holes:

Thompson's call to inform the White House lawyers that the committee had knowledge of the tapes turns out to be nothing as sinister as the Globe reports.

Anyone who know anything about the law understands the concept of "discovery."

Thompson to Buzhardt: "'The committee is aware of the fact that every conversation in the White House is on tape. I know you realize the significance of that. It’s not my place to give you advice, but I think that if I were you I’d start making plans immediately to get those tapes together and get them up here as soon as possible.'

There was a short pause. Then Buzhardt said, 'Well, I think that is significant, if it is true. We’ll get on that tomarrow.'"

Also, Armstrong, the main source for the Globe story, admitted to leaking and falsifying information: "After Rolling Stone Magazine published an article that characterized almost every member of the staff as incompetent or worse, Armstrong admitted to Sam Dash that he had provided information for that article."

This is all in Fred's Book, and it's all been public information for more than 30 years.

Molehills.

Molehills? Maybe. But why take a chance with a guy who cheers on El Jefe Bush, Champion of the North American Union and Amnesty as well as Doomed War On The Middle East? Do we really need a guy who is part of the Machine in there, ignoring Congress (or taking their cue, the pathetic, spineless traitors) and launching more bombs on his next favoritest target, Iran? Lobbyist, warmonger, TV actor - yeah what great qualifications. But hey, his girlfriends will vote for him! haha

Isn't F. Tommy a ex-lobbyist or something like that??? He is Pro-war also and from what I understand, he never served a minute in our military. I find that very disturbing, serving 9 years myself. Sorry, but the only real issue is the war and how to get our men and women HOME. And oh, let the terrorist follow us here, they won't last 5 minutes in battle here! I know that's the big argument everyone uses.

The more I read about all the bull, the more I like Ron Paul. I even actually like the Constitution. Supporting anything other then the constitution is Un-American and TREASON!

I use to have compassion for individuals who were "brainwashed" by

the likes of Bush/Chenney, "Rudi McRomney" and cousin "Freddie"

Plus Dem Relatives "Obama" and "Hillary" (all of them CFR

Globalist?)... However, now I can only feel sorry for them..

Leadership is Action Through *Example Not Position...

(It is not a position of power nor being in the right place at the

right time, neither define leadership).

It is defined by setting the example through taking action on such

Leadership Traits as Truthfulness! Honesty! Fidelity!

Ron Paul Has Acted Admirably On All These Leadership Traits:

“Truthfulness” first and foremost… Then: Principle, Integrity,

Honesty,* Fidelity (to their oaths), Honor, Virtue, Compassion,

Courage, Vision, Wisdom and Faith.

What Sturm didn't bother to tell you is that is that he's a Thompson FAQ so full of holes is a figure of speech. Those are FT quotes.

But he played an admiral in the movie "The Hunt for Red October." That's as close as your typical Repug politician ever gets.
