Being Mean To The Newt?

The last couple posts might seem like I'm not only piling onto Newt but also gloating about his ... difficulties. I'm pretty sure there is an element of that. Look, I loath that guy as one of the worst examples of a politician. He is an intellectual light weight with delusions of grandeur, he is about as fake an example of Family Values horse-pucky possible, and his political ethics flat out suck eggs - bad enough that he resigned the House thanks to his ethics (non-sex related, too). I don't think there is a modern pol I have a lower opinion of - and I have a damned low opinion of quite a few.

Whatever any of the rest of GOPer Primariers are, in these catagories they're pikers. The longer this piece of work is around the more disgusting politics gets. I sincerely hope this not only is the end of Newt in national politics but also the end of Newt Is Important Inc.

Newt May Be Dead - Or Maybe A Zombie

I'd be as likely to take Palin seriously as a Presidential contender as I would Newt but this from Swampland is absolutely ... um ... precious.

Update: Gingrich’s spokesman, Rick Tyler, sends the Huffington Post this statement blaming the candidate’s problems on the press:

“The literati sent out their minions to do their bidding,” Tyler wrote. “Washington cannot tolerate threats from outsiders who might disrupt their comfortable world. The firefight started when the cowardly sensed weakness. They fired timidly at first, then the sheep not wanting to be dropped from the establishment’s cocktail party invite list unloaded their entire clip, firing without taking aim their distortions and falsehoods. Now they are left exposed by their bylines and handles. But surely they had killed him off. This is the way it always worked. A lesser person could not have survived the first few minutes of the onslaught. But out of the billowing smoke and dust of tweets and trivia emerged Gingrich, once again ready to lead those who won’t be intimated by the political elite and are ready to take on the challenges America faces.”

To say anything more would devalue this, well noting that the incoming fire was virtually all GOP might add to the wonderfulness.

(Honestly, do you think Newt should fire this guy or give him a raise?)

Newt No Longer The GOP Idea Guy?

I'll be go-to-hell if I ever understood the theme about Newt that he was Idea Guy. Now not that he's short of Ideas, it is just that I don't know of any that held any water other than as buzz words. The (something) media went right along with this theme of Idea Guy. It seems that Newt went onto Meet the Press and didn't understand that answering questions on TV (despite multiple appearances on said show) means that your answers exist on tape and somebody might notice that you did such a thing.

Newt has had lots of Ideas about how to be nasty and insulting, but now he gets to find out how his Party will use that on him. This ought to be the end of Newt in this GOP Primary, and it really is a shame because he always provides such fodder for people like me.

Really, I'll miss a guy like this.

Too Much For Chris Wallace???

According to Faux News there is something that is too much for even Chris Wallace to swallow from the GOP:
WALLACE: You also write this, and let's put it up on the screen. "The secular-socialist machine represents as great a threat to America as Nazi Germany or the Soviet Union once did." Mr. Speaker, respectfully, isn't that wildly over the top?

GINGRICH: No, not if by America you mean the historic contract we've had which says your rights come from your creator, they're unalienable, you're allowed to pursue happiness. I mean, just listen to President Obama's language. He gets to decide who earns how much. He gets to decide what is...

WALLACE: Well, but, I mean...

GINGRICH: ... too much.

WALLACE: ... in fairness, we're talking not just about any company, we're talking about companies that the — that the government has put...

"Well, but, I mean ..." Oh my god, even Chris Wallace has gone Commie Islamofascist?

I suppose Faux will correct an obviously failed transcript...

Oh go ahead and laugh - I've been trying to pick my jaw up off the floor over the whole thing for hours, barely able to type this. Point and laugh. Oh yeah, there's no difference between Parties...

Hey Newt, Dangerous Site Here

yessiree bob

Danger lurks.

here

there

everywhere

You never can tell, people might say some truly subversive things like:

"When in the course of human events..."

That was another George, in fact the Third. Maybe down in your neck of the woods they never taught history, or maybe in that alternative lizzard universe you occupy things turned out differently. You see, nobody asked your opinion about whether speech was safe, it turned out a long time ago that it wasn't. Except that most of them are dead, you could ask folks from the dawn of speech down through Mao Tse Tung and right up to a lizzard designated failed politician if it isn't. George II has found it dangerous, people have talked and they disapprove of being lied to, walked into a never ending war on terror, Iraq, institutionalized plutocracy, pretty much you name it. That's the real terror for a politician of your stripe, people might just want the truth, they might just want to make their minds up without you trying to scare them to death.

Here's a news flash for you, Newt, those little rat bastards with the bombs, they don't like people saying the wrong things, praying to the wrong gods, in fact, just like you, they're skeert of free speech. Now here's a real news flash for you, there are all kind of lefties that think you resemble something stuck on their shoe and your philosophy of life as smelly; who'll defend your right to say something that assinine and actually believe it. People will, no kidding, give you a podium to advocate taking their podium away from them. Heck, I'll advocate giving you a podium, then I'll call you down out for it.

You see, silly lizzard, most of us aren't cowards. One heck of a lot of us are just exactly as dangerous as I am, we'll just keep insisting that that our rights aren't subject to your fears. Or your advantage. And we'll make fun of you. And we remember things like 1776 and just how powerful words can be, they can stoke revolutions. And places like Omaha Beach where our kids walked through slaughter so jerks like you could stand up in front of a whole bunch of people and say something like you did. You stood there and spit on one of the foundations of our nation and you think people might "make" you be President? Keeeripes
