Fred Thompson's Crook

The top three Republicans sure seem to draw some crooked help and enthusiasm and now Fred's big deal pal Philip Martin has quit because he's been a drug dealer and other miscues in the past. You have ask yourself what it is that attracts these people to each other, what defect exists in candidate and supporter that makes a match. I am not insinuating that the candidates are crooks, but what exactly is it that goes south in these relationships? No, I've not forgotten Hsu.

A guy who thought it was fine to deal drugs in the 70s and 80s and other issues has a problem going on, and a problem that seems very at odds with the Republican agendas other than naked greed. People change...sure they do, sometimes. There is also a real magnet involved in power and influence and it draws people of various characters. It certainly draws the altruistic with a drive to improve the lot of their fellows, but is hold an even greater attraction to those interested in inproving their own lot.

Really now, I'd guess the latter.
