The Descent Of Political Dialogue

There is a lot of talk lately, well a bit more than just recently, about how political dialogue has become so rabidly partisan as to be demeaning. Maybe some history lessons would help just a bit with perspective so I'll toss one up.

Early in our history as a nation two well known names stood on opposite sides in political-economic debate which was rather ... heated. The upshot of this heat was that Aaron Burr shot John Hamilton dead in a duel. Now if Boehner and Pelosi square off at ten paces tell me something about the descent.
