Repeal Fantasy

The GOP doesn't mind lying to its folks, they plan to run on repealing the health care bill. Now that one is a bit much. They need over a 100 Seat swing in the House and a 20 seat change in the Senate to have a veto proof margin. I suppose that assumes they couldn't impeach Obama and Biden to avoid a veto. "We're going to repeal it." O....K....

Shhh, don't tell 'em. We're going to face the usual mid-term difficulty energizing our base to show up. I can't think of anything which might bring our folks to the polls more effectively than a threat to this piddling little health care overhaul. As you say, they (the Republicans) have zero chance of actually achieving the repeal but the posturing is really about energizing THEIR base. As I said elsewhere, once again, the Republicans have staked out familiar ground: The wrong side of history.
